I bought this case back to back with the purchase of my Nikon Coolpix S8000. While it shipped separately from the camera, it was well worth the wait. For years, I’ve been more of a traditionalist with my cameras, much preferring a bulking digital camera that hangs around my neck and makes me look like a tourist. I like the feel of a nice sized digital cam in my hands rather than the matchbox digital cams that have been on the market these days. But the 10x zoom and some other options sold me on the S8000, plus I wanted a high end pocket sized cam for a vacation trip.
Like I said, I bought the case at the same time as the camera. It has dual zippers and is a nice rubber shell which would definitely protect it if I dropped it. The cam fits snug inside with a velcro strap for protection. There’s one mesh pocket on the opposite size perfect for a few memory cards. The case also came with a carabineer clip which doesn’t really fit the snap clip on the side so it’s pretty useless. Also, although it was of no interest to me, the Live Green band bracelet did not come with the case either.
Great price! And a good investment for this camera.

My initial review of this product was harsh. The product did not meet my expectations for acceptable construction of a case. The case construction has since been improved. The improvement is significant. The inside of the case has more foam padding to protect the camera (which is good for someone like me that drops things). The size is right for the camera and a memory card. Having the carabiner is helpful when you want to keep your handsfree.

It is compact for sure. However, It seems too small for the camera. The camera just about fits in and you have to keep it in a specific angle for that to work. And, it does not end there… even after you have managed to position and close the pouch, the pouch is oddly shaped. You need to be very careful when you open it, because the camera is almost ready to fall out.

Not much to add , Very good product , feels solid and well made
Makes my GPS feel a bit big when it is in it but protect it very well.
