Like all Pentax lenses, this lens is treated with the acclaimed smc coating for maximum light transmission, sharp definition, and high contrast images.

You can feel the quality build of this lens when you hold it in your hands. Excellent sharpness with great contrast. Mild distortion and vignetting which are unavoidable in such a wide angle lens. See example photos.

I OWN A PAIR OF PENTAX ED BINOCULARS AND AMAZED WITH ITS OPTICS. SO BOUGHT THE AWARD WINNING ED 14MM 2.8 FOR MY NEW K-7 AND AM VERY PLEASED WITH THIS LENS TOO – VERY SHARP & COMPACT. I AM NOT A PENTAXIAN BUT MUST ADMIT THAT I’M IMPRESSED WITH SO FAR PENTAX I HAVE.
