Replacing some silica in containers, these had an immediate reduction in moisture. Herbs were crisply dry inside 24 hours.
Silica seems expensive no matter where you get it.

Since I dry my own herbs/spices, I bought these to put inside my spice jars and keep them from rehydrating. They work great! If they absorb too much moisture, you can put them in the oven at 250 deg for 3-4 hours and dry them back out for re-use.

I needed these for my ammunition and electronics storage boxes. Well worth the investment, considering the amount of damage moisture can do over time. This are about the right size for keeping a reasonably sealed container, 1-5 gallons, free from nighttime moisture when outdoors.
