   I bought the Accessory Kit which consisted of a battery pack and leather case. I wanted the battery as a back up to the battery which I originally purchased with the camera. The problem is that the camera case has no roon for the extra battery. The battery is very small and the case should contain a pocket to hold it.

   I purchased the Sony NP-FG1 Type G battery for my new Sony CyberShot DSC-W290 camera because the NP-FG1 shows remaining battery life before a recharge will be necessary, whereas the battery that comes with the camera only displays a simple bar graph to indicate remaining battery strength. Even though the NP-FG1 and the supplied battery both provide enough of a charge to record well over 250 images each, having a fully charged spare battery at hand is always a good idea.

   Over the past two months, I’ve used both batteries and have taken about 350-shots without fully draining either of them. Because of the NP-FG1’s ability to display the remaining battery life in minutes, I’m using this battery as my primary and the supplied battery as a backup.

   As for the leather case that came with the NP-FG1, it needs a pocket to carry a spare battery and/or a spare memory stick.

   Five stars for the NP-FG1 battery, and three stars for the leather case.

   It was as expected, well constructed. Extreamly good deal, considering the battery alone is $49. If you have a sony camera this will work with would reccomend purchasing.

   Supplier sent a “substitute” battery instead of a true SONY, and it faled to work in my camera. Returned items for a full refund including shipping.
